Transparency, strength and versatility in a single material

The material

Acrylic (PMMA): superior transparency and maximum versatility

Acrylic (PMMA) is one of the most versatile and in-demand plastic materials on the market. With transparency exceeding 90%, high impact resistance and excellent weathering stability, it is the perfect alternative to glass for countless applications. At Plásticos Ferplast we have extensive experience in the production, handling and transformation of acrylic, the material with which we began our activity over 70 years ago. Today we remain specialists in developing any type of custom acrylic piece or product, with maximum precision and quality.

Frequently Asked Questions About Acrylic

An acrylic sheet is a transparent, strong and lightweight plastic sheet that offers excellent light transmission. It is used as an alternative to glass due to its high durability, ease of machining and lower weight.
Cast acrylic is manufactured by pouring the material into moulds, which offers greater thermal resistance and better optical quality. Extruded acrylic is produced continuously and is more economical, ideal for flat pieces or applications where perfect polishing is not required.
Custom acrylic allows you to obtain pieces, sheets or components adjusted exactly to the project's needs, reducing assembly times and material waste. It also facilitates integration into existing structures or specific production processes.
Yes. Acrylic is a very easy material to machine. It can be cut, drilled, polished, bent or engraved using laser or CNC without losing its optical properties.
Yes. Acrylic perfectly withstands sun exposure and atmospheric agents. It does not yellow over time and maintains its transparency and shine even after years of outdoor use.
