Polycarbonate protective enclosures for packaging line
The challenge
A machinery manufacturing company needed to replace the opaque metal enclosures of a packaging line with transparent protections that would allow visual supervision of the process without stopping production. The solution had to withstand accidental impacts and comply with safety standard EN 14120.
The solution
We supplied 6 mm solid polycarbonate sheets cut to size with tight tolerances for direct assembly on the existing frame. The edges were treated to prevent chipping and the mounting holes were machined according to the customer's drawing.
The result
The new enclosures were installed over a weekend without interrupting production. Process visibility enabled detection of two minor incidents that previously went unnoticed. The customer reported a 40% reduction in unplanned downtime during the first 6 months.
